ABIGAIL ISABELLA CORDELIA HENLEY

Family: Father is General Nickleby Henley of the Union Army. Mother is Cordelia Henley of the Presidential Union Circus (deceased … the mother, not the circus). Unnamed brother also dead, killed by scarlet fever at the age of seven years. Fiance by Father’s choice is Mr. Hollendale III. Fiance by past choices is Romulus Dover.
Friends: Closest friends are those on the ship. As of the current date, Cornelius Prower is her most trusted companion.
Motto: “I reckon on the ground, there are good people and bad people and a whole lotta people talkin’ on what’s good and bad. Up here, it only matters what’s right and wrong.”

Abigail joined the Union military to gain some freedom as a woman. However, now that the Second Civil War has finished, all women are to be discharged from services. Faced with the reality of having to return to Boston to marry into high class (and abusive) society, she decides to convince Cornelius Prower to stow away with her on another adventure. Cornelius soon finds that she is stowing orphan Confederates on her airship and smuggling them to the wild west of Colorado. Captain Henley is untrusting, catty, sardonic, and a real bastard. But she also is loving, brutally honest, and still only a little girl.

CORNELIUS PROWER

Occupation: Clockmaker, Inventor
Nicknames: Prower, Nelius, Mr. P, Mr. Pumpernickle
Family: Father is John Prower, a famous and ingenius inventor. Mr. Prower was thought to have been in Europe. This has proven untrue. His mother is dead. No siblings. He is grandson to Cornelius Adams, great-grandson to John Quincy Adams, great-great grandson to John Adams. Cousin to Quinn Adams.
Friends: Theodore’s son, Theo. He also likes to count Fitzy as a friend. And he is in love with Abigail Henley.
Motto: “Any problem can be solved, anything is possible.”

Cornelius Prower is a naive, sheltered boy from the heart of Boston. His father was a famous inventor, and he learned from an early age how to piece two cogs together. When his father abandoned him at the age of twelve for a life of adventure, Prower took up the everyday keep of their clock shop. As the war ended, he was approached by the Arabella to become its full-time mechanic. It is here he stays, under the scrutinizing and bitter eye of his Captain.

LIEUTENANT ROMULUS DOVER
Age: 26
Hometown/Nation: Boston, MA (The Union)
Occupation: Honorably Discharged from the Union Airforce, retired First Mate of the Airship Arabella. Currently a lawyer in New Orleans.
Nicknames: Rommy
Family: Father was Mr. Roger Dover of the Boston Dovers, Mother was Mrs. Roger Dover of the Boston Dovers. Twin brother, Remus, and he lived next door to the Henley children, Abigail and her brother.
Friends: Closest friend and lover is Abigail Henley. He has been in love with her since he was a child, and as the Second Civil War ended, he proposed to her. She sadly left him at port in New Orleans one year ago. He has now returned to protect her and to reclaim his place in her heart.
Motto: “I don’t give a damn about you or the Union or whoever else there is fighting. I got into this for her, and I’d kill you all to ensure her getting out alright.”

Dover left Boston after a summer of adventure with Abigail. At the age of nineteen, he joined his brother in New Orleans as a student of the law. Once he had graduated from the university, he received word that Abigail had joined the airforce. He signed on as her first mate of the Arabella to protect her. A year before the end of the war, he proposed to Abigail and she pulled out of port without him.

COLONEL REMUS DOVER
Age: 26
Hometown/Nation: Boston, MA (The Union)
Occupation: Colonel in the Confederate Army, Current Captain of the Arabella
Nicknames: Dover’s brother, The Other One, Bloody Colonel
Family: Father was Mr. Roger Dover of the Boston Dovers, Mother was Mrs. Roger Dover of the Boston Dovers. Twin brother, Romulus, and he lived next door to the Henley children, Abigail and her brother.
Friends: Tries not to have close friends. Most friends have deceased.
Motto: “A sore loser is one who will only lose again.”

Remus left Boston with his mother during his adolescence. He became a soldier in the Confederate army, much to his family’s (and brother’s) chagrin. During this time in the war, he was considered an enemy of Romulus and Abigail’s, but he still fought to keep the refugees on the Arabella safe. He believes more so in humans than he does the South, and as of late, he has been asked to take on duties as the Captain of the ship.

WALLACE “FITZY” FITZGERALD
Age: 49
Hometown/Nation: Shreveport, LA (South)
Occupation: Prior Unknown, Currently Arms Expert on Arabella
Nicknames: Fitzy, Fitz
Family: Unknown.
Friends: Abigail and the rest of the crew.
Motto: “There ain’t nothing worth killing another man for.”

Not much is known about Wallace Fitzgerald. It is known that he came into high ranking and favor on Abigail’s crew. Always a friendly hand on the ship, he quite enjoys his life of guiding the younger members and attempting to keep out of too much trouble.

BENJAMIN CULLENS

Cullens does not speak about Cullens.

 EMMA ROSEN
Age: 25
Hometown/Nation: Philadelphia, PA (The Union)
Occupation: Medic of the Arabella (Union Airforce)
Nicknames: Rosen
Family: Not much is known about Emma. She comes from a less wealthy family in Philadelphia, and left for the military to pay for her younger sisters. She met Christopher Touchstone aboard the Arabella, and was engaged to Touchstone until Abigail threw him off the deck.
Friends: Her closest friend had once been the young Captain of the Arabella, but once Abigail threw her fiance off the deck, their friendship has been strained.
Motto: “Some people are cold. There’s no reason to be.”

Emma is a quiet woman who found solace in the military, just as Abigail did. She falls in love with Touchstone, who pilots the Arabella. However, she is now on her own to wonder why Touchstone hasn’t attempted to contact her, and what her feelings for Prower may be. In the meantime, she is one of the working joints of the ship; without her, everyone would get off track. She does what needs to be done, but she’s also one of the few people who questions the validity of Abigail’s leadership.

THOMS HEWES

Age: 14

Hometown/Nation: Cheston, GA (The South)

Occupation: First Mate of the Arabella

Nicknames: None, Thoms is just fine

Family: Thoms had a large family and a close-knit community. They were all killed in a Union raid, and Abigail took him on as a first mate after the “loss” of Dover. Thoms now considers Abigail his family and his life.

Friends: All he knew was killed in the raid at Cheston. He now considers the ship his friend.

Motto: “I believe there are things to fight for. To defend with your life.”

Thoms’ family was ransacked during the raid at Cheston. As one of the refugees taken upon the Arabella, he was the only refugee left on the Arabella after an air battle over Florida. Thoms was taken on as a crew member, and then a first mate and pilot. He works hard, believes in his cause, and has many delusions about the world.
